Harry Meikle, born in Liverpool, is a mathematician by profession as well as a lifelong painter in oils and watercolour. His artwork was greatly influenced by the superb paintings of former RAF colleague & friend John Young, the eminent aviation artist. Early in life he began painting miniature landscapes, churches and portraits which became his particular specialty and for which he has had the majority of his commissions. His illumination and calligraphic work has been an area for which his services have been requested by a wide range of clients, from professional photographers & wedding planners to the Mayor and Corporation of Warrington. Pet animals' portraits have often featured in his work.
